how can i break into the media field, like copywriting?

i have a major in english.

It would be great if you could take a course or internship so you could start building a portfolio. A portfolio is essential–also a knowledge/familiarity with advertising. Be able to discuss what you consider to be successful ads and why. What ads do you really like, and why. Check out publications like Adweek and Advertising Age, especially the critiques of ads so you start building an understanding of how to construct an effective piece of communication. Good luck!

What are all the details on copywriting and publishing a book?
